Job of the week: Advertising/Publications Manager at Akron General Hospital

Promote the brand by demonstrating a strong sense of Akron Children’s voice and culture, and be knowledgeable about Children’s core business as well as broader healthcare industry. Oversee all areas of advertising including direct mail, media buys and collateral. Participate in budget development, advertising monitoring and media buy costs, and ensure budgetary compliance. Manage editorial and production activities for marketing and promotional deliverables. Support clinical and business leaders in their efforts to develop and implement marketing plans and meet operational goals. Manage day-to-day workflow of department in regards to print and advertising strategies. Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director, oversee the implementation of advertising and promotional material to increase brand awareness and preference, working with internal clients and advertising and PR agencies. Responsible for quality control, accuracy and professionalism of advertising and print materials. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives. Maintain knowledge of communications trends and practices by participating in continuing education programs and professional organizations and reading current literature.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of eight (8) years of advertising, PR, marketing and/or media relations experience required. Corporate and/or healthcare sector experience preferred. Previous management experience required. Strong marketing, interpersonal, writing and editing skills are required. Must possess technical knowledge and experience in emerging Internet technologies for advertising and marketing. Proficient with business use of social media tools, including but not limited to: blogs, microblogs, wikis, photo and video posting, social bookmarking, etc. Must be able to work on tight deadlines and have the organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once. Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-performance, team environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Adobe Pro, etc.
