Malone President David King to speak at pastor’s breakfast

The Department of Church Relations at Malone University will host a Spring Pastor’s Breakfast 8:30 a.m. March 21 in the Brehme Conference Center, located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. Pastoral staff and their guests will be treated to a complimentary breakfast buffet.

A special message will be given by speaker Malone University President David King. The program will also feature a performance by Chancel Players, the University’s drama outreach team.

COLUMNIST TO VISIT CEDARVILLE – Cedarville University’s Center for Political Studies welcomes Michael Gerson to campus on March 22. Gerson will present his lecture “Graceful Citizenship: A conversation on Christian Civility and the Common Good” as part of the University’s Critical Concern Series.

Gerson is a nationally syndicated Washington Post columnist, a contributor to Newsweek and the author of “Heroic Conservatism.”

Gerson served on President George W. Bush’s presidential campaign in 1999 as chief speechwriter and a senior policy advisor. He has also served as the Roger Hertog Senior Research Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations Immigration and is currently a senior research fellow at the Center on Faith and International Affairs at the Institute for Global Engagement.

Gerson’s work focuses on human rights, global health and conflict resolution, and he is co-chair of The Poverty Forum and of the Catholic/Evangelical Dialogue with Dr. Ron Sider.

Gerson graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and currently lives with his wife and sons in Virginia.

Gerson will speak as part of Cedarville’s Critical Concern series on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center. The event is free and open to the public. To register, visit www.cedarville.edu/criticalconcern.

John Mark McMillan concert at Ashland University to benefit missions group

Ashland University’s Isaiah Project Missions will be hosting a benefit concert by Christian music singer and songwriter John Mark McMillan Wednesday, March 14, at 7 p.m. in the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel on the AU campus.

Concert doors to the “Ashland OH: John Mark McMillan Benefit Concert” will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. A group rate for a group of 10 or more is $10 each.

Proceeds from the benefit concert will go to the University’s Isaiah Project Missions, and specifically to the group’s Panama trip.

In 2005, McMillan released an album titled “The Song Inside the Sounds of Breaking Down,” which included the track “How He Loves.” This song has been covered by many well-known artists within the Christian music industry.

CEDARMANIA PLANNED – Junior high students are invited to attend CedarMania at Cedarville University on March 16-17. The high-energy, action-packed all-nighter will feature author and speaker Dave Ambrose with music by HeartSong Generation.

Teens will enjoy small groups led by Cedarville students, exciting competitions, inflatable SuperGames, and much more! The $25 per person registration fee includes a pizza party, a late-night snack, breakfast, and all activities. Add $10 for a long-sleeve CedarMania T-shirt.
