Ashland Symphony Conductor to speak at Ashland University’s Spring Commencement
Arie Lipsky, music director and conductor for the Ashland Symphony Orchestra, will present the address at Ashland University’s spring commencement ceremony set for May 5 at 10 a.m. at Miller Stadium in the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex off Broad Street.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in Kates Gymnasium inside the Physical Education Center.
BAND SET FOR NEW SEASON – The Findlay Civic Band will form for its first rehearsal of the season on May 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. The group will meet on The University of Findlay’s campus in the band room in the Frank J. Egner Center for the Performing Arts.
Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, the band will meet each Tuesday evening in preparation for performances at Riverside Park on July 11, 18 and 25.

ADVENTURE WEEK PLANNED – Ashland University’s Department of Recreational Services will be hosting a Community Adventure Week during the upcoming summer months.
Children of ages 5 to 12 are welcome to sign up for this weeklong camp.
Adventure Week will be held in the Ashland University’s Recreational Center from June 25 to 29, with a registration deadline of June 20. Each day will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended care available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost for the first camper is $150 and $100 for each additional sibling. For extended care, there is an extra $10 charge for each day needed per camper. New for 2012, campers attending more than one camp, including any Sports and Activities Camp, Adventure Week, or Creative Campers, will receive a $10 discount for each additional camp.
