Job of the week: Interactive Marketing Specialist at Manta

Manta, the largest online community dedicated entirely to small business, is searching for an experienced and innovative Interactive Marketing Specialist to drive Manta’s rapid growth and engagement among small business owners (currently with millions of members and more than 2,000 new users joining each day). The Interactive Marketing Specialist Interactive Marketing Specialist will support our engagement initiatives by creating, editing and distributing (via email and the Manta website) engaging content for our small business users.

The right candidate will build, test and execute Email Marketing campaigns using HTML and make site changes using our CMS tool. Our interactive marketing specialists are responsible for most email production tasks including the import, export and preparation of data, segmentation, message testing and final deployment. You should have a good working knowledge of HTML and be able to handle, dynamic and triggered campaigns.

The candidate should be results driven, ambitious, organized, articulate and a self-starter. This position reports to the Engagement Marketing Manager and will be interfacing with the Product, User Experience, and Development teams, as well as outside vendors and contributors.

Interactive Marketing Specialist

Interactive Marketing Specialist will be expected to perform the following tasks:

Creates and distributes existing and future Manta e-newsletters to engage, educate and upsell Manta members. This includes the Tip of the Day, Manta SMB View Connect Digest, and Over Quota newsletters.

Creates and sends one-off Manta promotional emails for education, upsell and engagement based on created email templates.

Updates, edits and maintains online marketing materials and key marketing and educational centers on Manta for improved education, engagement and upsell. This includes Manta marketing centers, the Home Page, About Manta, Resource Centers and Press Room.

Manages Manta presence on partner sites/directories

Manages creation and distribution of Manta member and customer surveys

Establishes and maintains a promotion calendar for both the major Marketing areas, email and e-newsletter promotions

Strong technical skills (Email, HTML, CSS) and familiarity with web development procedures and programs.

Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills; ability to turn basic information into promotional content

Ability to work both collaboratively across functions and independently with an entrepreneurial spirit

Proactive approach to work and problem-solving

Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects from concept to completion under tight deadlines

Familiarity with email marketing principles and best practices; ability to expand knowledge to grow in this area

Experience with A/B testing and optimizing the performance of email programs

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Proven track record of excellence in fast-moving online marketing division/company.

Well organized with attention to detail and ability to follow-through

Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields, or equivalent experience

5+ years experience in online marketing.

2+years of demonstrated and extensive email experience using tier 1 email delivery platforms including Responsys, ExactTarget, Silverpop, CheetahMail, Epsilon or Strongmail

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; high attention to details.

Ability to contribute individually, and lead, manage or participate in cross-functional teams

Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable information
