Malone University outreach groups scheduling new season
The Malone University Department of Church Relations is now scheduling two outreach groups for the fall semester of 2011 for church, school, or civic group programs. To schedule the University’s music outreach group, New Vision, or the drama outreach group, Chancel Players, contact Tim Pitzer, director of church relations at 330-471-8434 or email@example.com.
Celebrating their 31st year as a touring ministry, the Malone University Chancel Players is a group of five talented students who perform faith-based comedy and drama in schools and churches as well as various community organizations. This show is unlike many drama teams in the sense that it utilizes many creative genres. The group performs a set between 30-45 minutes in length; it begins with an “introduction” song parody, then weaves scripture throughout comedic skits, sketch art, drama, and ends with a meditative and contemplative song to minister to the soul. Chancel players is directed by Deanna Dallas, who toured two years with Florida State University’s The Moving Company and holds a bachelor of arts degree in theatre arts from Florida State University. She is now in her eighth season serving as director for the group and her 12th year in the service of Malone University.
New Vision is a ministry team made up of six incredible vocalists who are not only good musicians, students and friends, but have a sincere love for the Lord and desire to serve Him with their lives. They have a wide selection of songs and styles including gospel, contemporary Christian, hymn arrangements, patriotic, and secular favorites. New Vision travels during the academic year and are available for bookings in your churches, schools, conferences, and civic events. The group is directed by Timothy Pitzer, director of church relations at Malone. Formerly, Tim served as the pastor of fine arts at Southside Nazarene Church for six years. He is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and received his B.S. in music from Trevecca Nazarene University. After traveling with SpiritBound, a southern inspirational group for nearly four years, he served as minister of music at several Nazarene churches throughout the United States.
