No. 1: Experience breathtaking views of The Wilds on Sunset Safari tours
Enjoy the beautiful sunset on a breathtaking twilight tour of The Wilds this summer. Sunset Safari tours, offered every Friday and Saturday evening from June through September, provide guests with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to take in sweeping views of the Wilds’ scenic landscape at dusk.
All tours begin with a buffet dinner prepared by the Wilds’ professional chef and served on the deck of the Overlook Café. Following dinner, guests board an Open-Air Safari transport for a guided tour through the Wilds’ open-range animal areas where they will see rhinos, giraffes, antelope and other rare and endangered animals in their natural habitats.
The Sunset Safari tour is conducted by a member of the Wilds’ animal management staff who will take guests to the Mid-Sized Carnivore Conservation Center and other destinations for an up close look at the important conservation work taking place at the Wilds.
Sunset Safaris run from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. (4:30-7:30 in September) and cost $70 per person for Wilds members and $75 per person for non-members. Gift certificates are available.
In the event of inclement weather, covered vehicles will be used for Sunset Safari tours and dinner will be served in the Overlook Café dining room.
Advance reservations are required, and can be made by calling the Wilds at 740-638-5030, extension 2286.
