No. 4: Akron student wins Findlay student employee of the year
Elizabeth De Luca, a junior Spanish major from Akron, was named The University of Findlay Student Employee of the Year at the Student Employee Recognition Luncheon held during National Student Employee Week April 11-15. De Luca was one of 20 students nominated by their supervisors for this award.
De Luca is employed through the Federal Work Study Program for her work at the Hancock Metro Housing Authority, a local non-profit organization. De Luca has been employed with the agency for two years and was recently promoted to housing clerk assistant.
De Luca was nominated by her supervisor, Dora Conmay, office coordinator for the Hancock Metro Housing Authority, who states, “Her caring nature has aided her in working with such a diverse public and our agency is pleased to have her as part of the team.”
The Student Employee of the Year Program is sanctioned by the National Student Employment Association. Students on campuses across the U.S. are nominated by their supervisors for the campus award, and then their nominations are submitted for state, regional and national awards. Nominees are judged on reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution to the workplace.
